Event Management
The 3 Rivers Venture Fair is presented by the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association and is managed by the organization’s executive director, co-chairs and planning committees.  It is a cooperative effort among many organizations and volunteers.

The PVCA would like to thank the Event Management for their leadership and significant contribution of their time and talents to the 3RVF.

Kelly Szejko, Executive Director, PVCA & 3RVF

Kelly Szejko has worked in the venture capital industry for more than 16 years and for the past ten has served as the Executive Director of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association.  In this capacity, Kelly oversees the organization's numerous promotional activities and events, including the nationally renowned 3 Rivers Venture Fair, regular networking events, the PVCA membership directory and the annual Entrepreneur of the Year program that recognizes successful regional entrepreneurs.

As a well-known and respected figure in the community through her work with the PVCA, Kelly is actively involved in lobbying efforts in Harrisburg, where she works to attract venture capital resources to the Pittsburgh region.

Currently, Kelly also serves as the Controller for both Birchmere Ventures, a $150 million venture capital fund that she joined in 2000, and Pittsburgh Equity Partners that she joined in 2009.  She has served as a venture fund Controller since 1992.

Kelly holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh.

Paul Cohn – Vice President & Regional Director, The Ohio Capital Fund/
Fort Washington Capital Partners

Paul is a Vice President and Regional Director of Fort Washington Capital Partners Group. In that capacity, Paul concentrates his efforts on directing the efforts of the Ohio Capital Fund (the “OCF”) which was created by the State of Ohio. The OCF was created to act as a catalyst for investing in early stage businesses in Ohio.

Previously, Paul founded and ran Navigation Capital Partners, a boutique investment bank focused on raising capital for emerging businesses and providing M&A advisory services.

Paul was a Partner and founding member of Mellon Ventures, the venture capital affiliate of Mellon Financial Corporation, which grew to more than $1.3 billion of investments and commitments with investments in over 115 companies and 70 private equity funds. In addition to his direct investment responsibilities, Paul was responsible for directing Mellon Ventures fund investment program. Paul served on the boards of a number of portfolio companies and on the advisory boards of a number of other private equity funds while he was at Mellon Ventures.

Previously Paul held various investing and lending positions with Mellon Financial and Westinghouse Credit Corporation.

Paul received a B.S. and M.B.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University.

John Manzetti – President & CEO, Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse

After serving as an Executive-in-Residence and then as the Chief Operating Officer assisting start-up companies move their ideas and products through the Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse (PLSG) “concept to commercialization” pipeline, John W. Manzetti was named President and Chief Executive Officer of the PLSG in December 2006.

Prior to the PLSG, Mr. Manzetti held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at NOMOS Corporation, a leader in the field of radiation therapy treatment solutions for cancer patients. He joined NOMOS in May 1999 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and was named President and Chief Operating Officer in December 2000. As CFO, and later as COO, he focused and streamlined NOMOS’ operations, laying the foundation for the company’s profitable growth. He was named Chief Executive Officer in October 2001 and spearheaded the merger with North American Scientific in 2004. After the merger, Mr. Manzetti assumed the role of President of the NOMOS Division, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, and he also served on Board of Directors of this publicly traded company (NASI on NASDAQ).

Previous to joining NOMOS, Mr. Manzetti served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer at Carnegie Group, Inc., a public company that was acquired in November 1998 by Logica PLC, a UK-based firm. During his 10 years at Carnegie Group, he helped the company become a recognized leader in delivering intelligent software solutions to commercial and government markets. He structured the company’s public offering in 1995 and served as Corporate Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors (CGIX on NASDAQ). He also served as business unit manager for each of Carnegie Group’s manufacturing, healthcare, financial services and government businesses.

Before Carnegie Group, Mr. Manzetti served in various management positions of increasing responsibility at Babcock & Wilcox Company, a leader in the design and delivery of power generation systems and industrial equipment to industry.

Mr. Manzetti holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Geneva College and an MBA from the University of Akron.
